- Appointment: McGuire Schwartz was unanimously voted in by the Board of Selectmen in March 2024

- Creative background: His work includes writing poetry in a new form he created called the “Seventeen", and he has been published in various journals. He has also written plays and published a chapbook titled Loss and Laughs, Love and Fauna.

- Commitment to the community: He aims to engage with the town through poetry and has participated in events like the Guilford Poets Guild’s Second Thursday Series.
