Heather Aldo raised her children in Southbury and now resides in Torrington, Connecticut. Over the past four to five years, she has devoted herself to creating art, exploring different mediums, and developing her unique artistic voice. Creativity has always been a central part of Heather’s life, along with her natural teaching spirit.
She has spent many years working with children—through raising her own family, in school arts & craft workshops, within her church community, and even running a home daycare in Southbury for several years. Now, Heather channels that same nurturing and guiding energy into her art practice. When she isn’t painting, she looks forward to sharing her passion with others by offering workshops where adults can learn to paint, relax, and enjoy the creative process with friends.
Heather’s work includes both functional art and canvas paintings, which she sells at local events and through several retail gift shops across Connecticut. Beginning in October, Heather is thrilled to expand her teaching opportunities at VSG, Vicinanza Galleries and Studios, where she will continue inspiring others to explore their own creativity.

In this workshop, you’ll explore the art of creating dramatic cells and lacing using fluid acrylics and a palette knife. Learn how to intentionally guide your paint rather than leaving results to chance—choosing exactly where to place areas of visual interest and where to let negative space breathe.
This workshop emphasizes both technique with the palette knife, and artistic intention. We will explore how to choose color placement, the art of holding the palette knife for swiping, and tilting for composition to create a unique and dynamic final piece.
