Ms. Vicinanza brings a rich and multidisciplinary artistic background to this exhibition. She recently served as the inaugural Poet Laureate of Southbury, Connecticut, having been appointed in October 2022. Her distinguished career includes work as a Master Teaching Artist in Poetry for the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, as well as editorial roles for several literary magazines.

Faith is the founder and executive director of the Connecticut Poetry Festival (1997, 2001, 2003), and the author of six poetry collections, with several new works and a memoir currently in progress. A seasoned performer, Ms. Vicinanza has competed in National Slam Championships as a member of two national teams (1994, 1996), and represented the United States internationally in Sweden in 1997. That same year, she also served as executive director of the National Poetry Slam Championships in Middletown, Connecticut – the largest poetry event in the state’s history.

Ms. Vicinanza’s artistic reach spans global and local stages alike, with appearances from Stockholm to San Francisco, and recognition including a nomination for Connecticut State Poet Laureate and the 2003 Connecticut Commission on the Arts Advocates for the Arts Award.

Beyond Faith’s literary accomplishments, Ms. Vicinanza is a visual artist, workshop leader, and founder of Vicinanza Studios and Gallery, now in its third year of operation. She also works full-time as a cybersecurity professional for an international bank.

This exhibition reflects her expansive creative vision, bridging the worlds of visual art and poetic expression. Each piece invites viewers into a dialogue of color, movement, and emotion, embodying both spontaneity and intention.
