The Vagina Monologues is an episodic play by V (formerly Eve Ensler) that explores women's sexuality, experiences, and the social stigma surrounding them through a series of monologues based on interviews with hundreds of women. Premiering in 1996, the work is celebrated for its humor, poignancy, and frank discussion of topics like abuse, body image, and pleasure, and it inspired the global activist movement V-Day to end violence against women and girls.
