Dan Kantak is a poet, artist, lyricist, photographer, and teacher. His poems have been published in various small-press magazines nationwide.
A seasoned performance poet as well as a writer, Dan was Connecticut’s individual poetry slam champion in 1993. His poems and photographs display a love of different cultures and the natural world. Dan’s writing is highly accessible, but never simplistic.
Most recently Dan was a featured presenter and workshop leader at Hay Memorial Library’s 2023 Great Lakes Poetry Series “Art Inspires Poetry” in Sackets Harbor N.Y.
Dan’s newest book, A Rumor About Shooting Stars was published by Parson’s Porch Books. Parson’s Porch & Company turns books into bread and milk by sharing its profits with people in need.
Dan lives in Sackets Harbor N.Y., a historic village on the shore of Lake Ontario.
