VSG’s Second Sunday Poetry and Music

  • Vicinanza Studios & Gallery - Suite 4C 493 Heritage Road Southbury, CT, 06488 United States (map)

First Thursday’s is now Second Sundays

Featuring poet, musician, artist Mar Walker and poet / musician John Jeffrey.

I have known these two stunningly talented poets for decades, beyond thrilled to have them share their talents with all of us.

Mar Walker, a poet, painter, singer-songwriter type, arts tinkerer, has two poetry chapbooks: Inverse Origami, the art of unfolding (1998), & Tabernacle of Bees (2011).  Also a  semi-dormant blog: mistryels.blogspot.com with over 600 entries.  She has  a degree from Charter Oak State College, a collection of overpriced incongruous graduate credits & three shy cats.

John Jeffrey received a double major in writing and literature from Western CT State University. He was a longtime editor of the CT Poetry Newsletter and a host of the Wednesday Night Poetry Series in Bethel, CT, and has been the featured poet at many venues around the state. But all that was long ago. These days he lives a quiet writer’s-blocked life with his wife and kids and a decidedly non-poetic dog.

VSG’s Second Sunday Poetry and Music takes place every 2nd Sunday at the Gallery. Renowned poets and local talents alike will find a platform for their poetry, prose, spoken word, and acoustic performances creating a vibrant atmosphere of creativity and expression. By hosting these events, VSG aims to foster a sense of community and promote the art of poetry in Southbury and beyond. Whether you’re a seasoned poet, an aspiring writer, a storyteller, or simply a lover of the spoken word, mark your calendar for our open mic afternoons.
